Ms Kakar rendered (Ravji)aninteresting track

Tehas Nehas was the third – and final – track from Khaali Peeli on this blog.

It happened to be the longest of the three – it was three minutes and 55 seconds long.

By no means would it be incorrect to state that the music directors, Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani, didn’t just fuse several genres, but they also displayed their willingness to innovate.

In fact, the latter’s involvement in the track wasn’t restricted to composing it, but he rendered it as well.

He was joined behind the microphone by Prakriti Kakar.

It was penned by Kumaar.

Divya did sound re(Ku)markably different

Shana Dil was the shortest of the three tracks from Khaali Peeli on this blog – it was just a couple of minutes and 58 seconds long.

The track, which, when loosely translated into Bambaiya Hindi, means, “A smart heart”, was rendered by Divya Kumar.

There was definitely something different about this track – it wasn’t just his departure from the rustic style (for which he is known), but also the change of voice. In fact, the latter was the highlight.

The track, which was penned by Raj Shekhar, was composed by Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani.

Changing the (Nee)title wA(zi)z pointless

Fans of the composer duo Vishal-Shekhar hope they find their lost mojo ASAP.

While their own recreation of their 15-year-old hit Dus Bahane for Baaghi 3 (2020) could be condoned, their latest – Duniya Sharma Jayegi – was unpardonable.

Formerly called Beyonce Sharma Jayegi (and later Beyonse Sharma Jayegi, for some inexplicable reason), the track from Khaali Peeli (2020) was abysmal.

It was rendered by Neeti Mohan and Nakash Aziz, and was three minutes and 32 seconds long.

What on earth were the caller tune writer masquerading as a lyricist Kumaar, and his partner-in-rhyme, Raj Shekhar, thinking?

Another Dus track was recreated

When I heard the recreated version of Deedar De, I couldn’t help but exclaim, “Another one has bitten the Dust.”

Considering that the 2020 reboot of the Vishal-Shekhar composition that was extremely popular a decade-and-a-half ago featured on the soundtrack of Chhalaang, I don’t know what compelled them to jump – quite literally – onto the recreation bandwagon.

Interestingly (and, perhaps, thankfully), the duo has been credited with this version (anyone else would’ve mauled it further, and that’s certainly not what we want, do we?)

Panchhi Jalonvi penned the song, which Asees Kaur and Dev Negi rendered.

It rocked, ThanKS to Vishal-Shekhar!

Dus Bahane 2.0 – the recreated version of the Dus (2005) track, which featured on the soundtrack of Baaghi 3 (2020) – wasn’t just a treat for Hindi film music aficionados’ ears, but also brought smiles to the faces to those who read its credits.

Three minutes and 21 seconds long, this version wasn’t just recreated by Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani, but featured their voices too.

The vocalists of the original – KK and Shaan – shared singing credits with them.

The quartet was joined behind the microphone by Tulsi Kumar.

This version was penned by Prachi Jalonvi.
