Musu Musu Haasi, from Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, was Shantanu Mukherjee (a.k.a. Shaan’s)
first full-fledged Bollywood track. As a teenager, he’d sung a line in a song
from Parinda, which was composed by
Rahul Dev Burman.
It was apt that
the singer, who is noted for his smile, was chosen by composers Purna Das Baul
Samrat, Shiraz Mehra and Vishal Dadlani to sing this song, which became popular
because of its Nepali hook.
Dadlani, who is credited
with redefining the (Penta)grammar of rock music in India, wrote the lyrics of
this song with Raj Kaushal.
