Nachle Ve – the Punjabi track from Ta Ra Rum Pum – certainly wasn’t one of Vishal
Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani’s best compositions, but the duo had the (nach)le(e)ve
to step out of their comfort zone. And that is just what they did.
The song, which
was four minutes and five seconds long, was penned by Javed Akhtar and rendered
by Sonu Nigam and Sowmya Raoh.
While the song gave
the latter an opportunity to s(h)ow(mya)case her versatility, it is unfair that
a singer as talented as the former has been underutilised by Messrs Dadlani and
Ravjiani.
